1tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free option)
1teaspoon cumin (ground)
1teaspoon chili powder
1/2teaspoon paprika
Salt and black pepper (to taste)
Fresh cilantro (garnish)
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, Volcano Burst lime juice, minced garlic, honey or maple syrup, soy sauce, ground cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Place your choice of protein (such as chicken breasts, shrimp, or tofu) in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag.
Pour the marinade over the protein, making sure it is evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to marinate, or ideally for 2-4 hours, to allow the flavors to meld.
When ready to cook, preheat your grill, oven, or stovetop grill pan to the desired temperature.
Remove the protein from the marinade, shaking off any excess.
Grill the protein over medium-high heat or roast it in the oven until cooked through, following the appropriate cooking method for your choice of protein.
Note
Serve the citrus lime-marinated protein hot, garnished with fresh cilantro if desired.
