Latin Adobo Marinade

  • 1/4 cup Italian Volcano lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin (ground)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh cilantro (garnish)
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, combine the Italian Volcano lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, dried oregano, paprika, chili powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  2. Place your choice of protein (such as chicken, beef, pork, or tofu) in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag.
  3. Pour the Adobo marinade over the protein, making sure it is evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to marinate, or ideally for 2-4 hours, to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. When ready to cook, preheat your grill, oven, or stovetop grill pan to the desired temperature.
  5. Remove the protein from the marinade, shaking off any excess.
  6. Grill, roast, or cook the protein according to your preferred method until it reaches the desired level of doneness.
Note

Serve the Adobo-marinated protein hot, garnished with fresh cilantro if desired.
